Las Vegas!!

This past Monday, the 20th, Laura and I took our free trip to Las Vegas that we got by sitting through a 90 minute timeshare presentation, well worth it. We got tickets to stay at Circus Circus for 3 nights, and we only used 2 nights because school is pretty important. It was a great opportunity to get away for a little bit and have some fun. So Monday morning we took off from Cedar and drove through a piece of Arizona...

and then into Nevada, (I like taking pictures of the state welcome signs, while I'm driving).

When we got to Las Vegas, a few hours later, we visited with Lindsay Butterfield and her boys and had some awesome peach cobbler... mmm. So we got to our hotel and we thought we were going to be in a little room in the motel section out back. Instead they put us up on the 19th floor with a King size bed and everything. It was pretty awesome, although the view wasn't exactly the greatest, but much better than if we had been in the motel part.

After we checked in we decided to walk for a while and got down to the strip to go walking and seeing the amazing casinos there. We walked a lot in Planet Hollywood, then we headed over to the Belagio Fountains to watch the water dance.

That was pretty sweet, and it happens every half hour, with different music and motions. We went into the Belagio to look at the shops and we bought some Gelato, or italian ice cream, it was sooo good. Very soft and creamy. We also saw their flower room or whatever you call it, that was pretty cool because it was this gallery of cool designs, like some kind of enchanted forest, inside the hotel.

We ate dinner at the Planet Hollywood Restaurant, (We had a $40 coupon and spent $39.74 of it haha).

Then we decided to travel the world; we saw Paris, Rome, and Italy all in one night. Which may be one of the coolest parts of Las Vegas.

This all happened on Monday night, Tuesday morning Laura flew out to a dental school interview at USC, while I stayed in Las Vegas, trying to stay out of trouble. j/k I went and walked around for a while, ate at ESPN Zone, which is inside the New York, New York hotel, across from Excalibur. that was pretty awesome, I showed up some Aussies trying to play a football game in the ESPN arcade. I thought that was cool. I picked up Laura later that night and we went to Applebee's and had dinner using our gift card, so another free dinner for us ;-D

That was it for Tuesday, Wednesday morning we woke up and Laura studied BioChem while I studied for my insurance exam. We went home after that and that was it. The trip was pretty awesome and on the way home we got pulled over because my foot got heavy and we were going a little fast, but the guy let us off with a warning. So that was a relief. lol The first time I've ever been let off with a warning! I hope you enjoyed this. see ya later!

The first of many

Hello and welcome to our bran spankin' new blog. I guess for this first one we might as well say hi and that we have passed two months of being married and it has been absolutely awesome! Laura just got back from The Ohio State University School of Dentistry where she had an awesome interview. When she looked at her email here she found out that UNC invited her to an interview, that makes 8 in all. She is doing great. She lost her voice and was a little squeeky this weekend, but its ok, I enjoyed it. I am keeping busy trying to pass the Property and Casualty insurance test for Utah. I am determined to pass it in 2 weeks so I can get going in the insurance business. My pinky remains broken, I think, my only doctor has been Wal-Mart, and we bought a little finger splint. This week we get to go to Vegas for free, and we are staying at the Circus Circus, so we'll have some pictures of that. Anyway Laura is looking forward to getting a bunch of dental school interviews done and will be finished with them before we go to my house for Thanksgiving, which should also be awesome. Then she will find out where she has been accepted on December 1st, so we are excited for that news! As most everyone knows Laura is keeping busy with her classes, mentoring, and being Presidenta of ASDA (Aspiring Student Dental Association) at SUU. I do what I can with my classes, work, and rugby. I have a game Saturday down in St. George; I don't really know what to expect, but I know I will get to hit some people and I expect I will get hit as well. That's half the fun (hehe). So that's it for Blog 1, I hope we can keep up with this weekly, but who knows, sometimes we get pretty busy with everything, but if there is news, we'll let you know. Until next time, que les vaya bien!
